P1 (@Onewizzle) – “Gotta Get It” (+ Interview)

Here’s the superb new single from P1 entitled “Gotta Get It”. It is the new single from the eclectic mixtape, “What If I Told You The Truth”.

Interview with P1:

What city do you hail from? I’m from Jacksonville Florida

What does your name P1 mean? Its actually a name I started with when I begin taking rapping seriously I needed a stage name and my homie came up with it because that was the kind of stick I cared at the time.

How long have you been active in the rap game? I been active since 2002 and took a break and begun back at 2012

Since your first go around was in the group, Zone Three, how are you going to approach the game as a solo artist? I’m approaching it the same way we came at it hard and aggressive I got plenty of new music for my people.

Who are some of the artists and producers you’ve worked with for your new music? As far as producer, I work with Eddidit. He is our very own inhouse producer for our recording studio, Southside House of Sound. Artists on the new project include: Borderico, Lil Duvy, Cool Ass Chelsea, Fa Da Fam and Zonethree.

Who would you say are your greatest influences in music today? I would say Rick Ross, J Cole and Future

There are not a lot of artists from Jacksonville but you do have a few, are you bringing any new artists to the game from your hometown? Who are they? I have a team of artists, Five, Mista 2150, FA DA FAM, and T-76.

Explain your concept of your mixtape? I am sharing a lot of truth and reality, and the flipside of the streets in my raps. I am trying to inspire and spark the mind, give a truth.

So with the climate of today’s artists using ghostwriters, would you use any and have you done any, for any artists out there now? No ghostwriters for me, all original. I have written for a few artists, in which I will not disclose any names.
