Marquee Lights (@Marquee_Lights) – Bottom Of The Bottle

Marquee Lights is an Indie Rock duo breaking into the Philadelphia scene in big ways this year. After countless set-backs and attempts, the two steamrolled through their eponymous debut EP session in April 2017 with a sound incorporating Lyndsay Mahalis’ relentlessly powerful vocals and Andrew Ryan’s multi-instrumental talents, driven by his dynamic acoustic guitar tunings. The results range from fun catchy licks to mindful and reflective lyric-heavy songwriting, in addition to their compelling harmonies.

However, Marquee Lights hasn’t only been working on their 4-track EP. Since October 2016, the band has been busy running a continuous fundraiser in which they are learning and recording one new cover every week. The covers could be anything based off of their fans’ requests in exchange for donations of any amount to the Philadelphia charity, Cara’s Sweethearts. The growing list of songs can be found on their YouTube page, and has touched on everything from Aretha Franklin to The Bee Gees, and Reverend Gary Davis to Aloe Blacc.

The EP is pick-your-price, but half of any amount paid will also be donated to Cara’s Sweethearts. You can check out more at MarqueeLightsMusic.com
